Advocacy and Public Policy
RCAP Solutions has ties to regulatory agencies, funding sources,
and legislators that provide us with a wealth of information
– and help us leverage that information on behalf of
the organizations and communities with which we work.
Some of the issues RCAP Solutions addresses through its advocacy
and public policy efforts include:
Community Resources
|
• Planning and Zoning
• Water and Waste Management
• Environmental and Public Health Issues
• Economic Development and Revitalization
• Programs for Special Needs Populations
• Public Financing of Community Infrastructure Improvements
|
Affordable Housing
|
• Efforts to Prohibit Exclusionary Zoning
• Preserving Rental Subsidies
• Advocacy and Supportive Services for Homebuyers and Homeowners
• Public Financing of Multifamily Housing Development & Support
|
In addition to doing policy analysis,
educating legislators and regulators, and engaging in public
dialog on important public policy issues, we work with
community leaders to give a local and regional voice to
regulatory and legislative activities at the state and federal
levels.
We can help your community organize itself to support or
maintain vital projects, or defend itself against legislation or regulation that
would have a negative impact on the interests of the community.
The Other Side Of Earmarks
Donald Schwartz, RCAP Solution's District Director for Community Resource
programs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and The Virgin
Islands, recently wrote an editorial for the Pennsylvania Centre Daily Times
regarding the positive side of federal earmarks - the side that provides local
help for local residents.
